The Home Depot Chronicles:

I swear I have the most interesting customers come through my line while I am at work, they truly entertain me. The wonderful customers I have had the pleasure in meeting is a big reason why I have been with The Home Depot for 3 years.

For this reason I am going to start posting at least once a week on the most interesting customer I have come in contact with while wearing my orange apron. 

This is a conversation I had with one of my regular customers, Big Red, Thursday night. Before you begin wondering, yes, Big Red! His nick name is “Big Red”, he’s called this because this man is about the size of a football player with red hair and he has a large beard that comes down to his chest. His story will cause me to think a little bit longer before I react in my next trying situation.

Me: Hey! How are you today?

Big Red: Hey, where have you been? I haven’t seen you in a while?

Me: Yeah, I didn’t have many hours last week and the week before that I was on a cruise!

Big Red: Oh, thats great! Where did you go?

Me: I went to Jamaica, Cozumel and the Cayman Islands.

Big Red: And?…

Me: *laughs* It was wonderful, I really enjoyed Cozumel.

Big Red: My wife and I went on a cruise a couple years ago to celebrate our 10 year anniversary and I ended up getting into a fight. 

Me: What?!?

Big Red: We go off  the port in Mexico and as my wife and I walked through the are where they where selling stuff everyone kept touching me. I know they were trying to make a sell but people just kept touching me, from everywhere. We walked a little further down and finally a guy came up and just pulled on my beard! My first reaction was to haul back and punch the guy! Before I knew it the military had come in and cleaned out the whole area. I was taken a back way into a holding area. The officers explained that in Mexico, they rarely see people with red hair and in their country its a sign of good luck…. I felt so bad afterwards. 

Just goes to show you, not everyone is out to hurt you, people might actually have good intention.
